The ride home from the evening activities for 9/11 for our family is only 10 miles from BVCC. The distance allows time for the absorption of reminiscent thoughts and conversation. Some of the conversation went like this:

"What went well?" "Would you change anything?"

"There are so many things happening on 9/11, I didn’t know whether anyone would attend."

"Wasn’t it cool to see families of volunteers working together."

"The music sounds so awesome in our sanctuary." "Did you count how many stringed musicians and parents were willing to give of their evening for this community mission event."

"It takes a lot of work, should we try it again next year?"

"A picture is worth a thousand words. I think the inside artwork display and the outdoor luminaries are great visual pictures we use to share our peace and to remember."

"We are rich in the number of volunteers who made this mission so successful by their support and willingness to encourage peace."

As editor of the Valley Voice, you will find on page 3 of the Sept. 23rd Newsletter an email received from an individual who attended the 9/11 activities at Blue Valley Christian Church. The email was sent on 9/11/2010 at 8:58 PM. The person’s name is withheld for privacy purposes. The subject line: God Bless you for putting together that extremely moving 9/11 service tonight!!
