Prayer Chain

In Matthew 6:5-6 the bible encourages us to pray:

"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace." (The Message)

I am excited to have one of October's missions to be a prayer chain every Tuesday. This will be done at home or wherever you chose. It will be on Oct 12, 19, 26 and November 2nd.

You will prayer during the hour you have signed up for each Tuesday. Couples can sign up for the same hour or different hours, whatever works for you. We will begin at 6 am and end at 6 pm (or when the last person signs up). When you are finished, you will call the next person in the chain to "link" us in prayer.

Each week you will be given a list of participants with phone numbers and some sugges- tions for prayer. These will be listed in 10 minute periods. I want to make it clear that these are suggestions only and the 10 minute periods are to help each of us to think about our prayer.

Give me a call or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to reserve a time slot. Include your name and a telephone number where you can be reached to link the chain. There will be a sign up sheet at church on Sunday, as well.

I pray this will be a exciting and insightful mission.
